The brain behind kaylin

Claude, by Anthropic, and the tools that help kaylin answer, book and follow up.

People ask us what's behind kaylin. The short answer: a very good brain, and a few very good tools around it.

The brain: Claude, by Anthropic

Anthropic is an AI company focused on building AI that's safe and helpful. Its AI is called Claude, and it's the thinking part of kaylin.

When kaylin answers a call, Claude works out what the caller needs and what to say next. When you ask kaylin something in Chat, Claude reads what kaylin knows about your business and answers. When an autopilot runs, Claude does the work: it writes the reminder, checks the calendar, or sums up your week. Help chat runs on Claude too.

Why Claude? Three reasons.

It follows your rules. Your hours, your prices, what needs your OK. A receptionist that makes things up is worse than none.

It's good with tools. Booking an appointment means reading a calendar, finding an open time and putting it there. Claude handles each step carefully.

It's careful. When Claude isn't sure, it says so and takes a message, instead of guessing.

The voice: ElevenLabs

ElevenLabs makes the voices you hear on calls. You pick kaylin's voice from their library.

The phone calls: Vapi

Vapi runs each call: it hears the caller, passes what they said to Claude, and plays kaylin's answer in the voice you picked, fast enough to feel like a real conversation.

Hearing callers: Deepgram

Deepgram turns what callers say into words kaylin can read. Vapi's calls already use it, and we're testing Deepgram's newest speech model to keep making kaylin better at understanding people.

Talk to kaylin (beta)

In Chat, you can talk to kaylin out loud instead of typing. ElevenLabs hears you and speaks kaylin's answer, and Claude does the thinking. It's in beta, so it's open to a few businesses for now.

The phone numbers and texts: Twilio

Twilio gives kaylin its phone numbers and carries every text. When someone texts STOP, they don't get texts from that number again.

Your calendar, email and invoices: Google, Microsoft and Zoho

kaylin connects to the Google, Microsoft or Zoho calendar and email you already use, so bookings land where you already look. With Zoho Books connected, kaylin can tell you who hasn't paid, create and email invoices, and record payments.

Where your data lives: Supabase

Your calls, texts, contacts and settings are kept in Supabase's database, and each business only ever sees its own.

Signing in: Apple, Google, Microsoft and Cloudflare

Sign in with Apple, Google or Microsoft, or with your email and a password. Cloudflare checks that it's a person signing up, not a bot, without making you pick out traffic lights.

Putting it together

None of these tools is kaylin on its own. kaylin is what happens when they work together for your business: a call comes in, Deepgram hears it, Claude understands it, Vapi and ElevenLabs carry the conversation, the booking lands on your calendar, and a confirmation goes out by text.

With kaylin: see how it all fits together, from the first ring to the follow-up.
